Why "Going Vintage" Helps The Planet

Reduces Landfill
According to earth.org, the fast fashion industry is responsible for around 92 million tons of waste per year - that's a frightening amount of clothing in landfill.

Not only that, a Telegraph survey discovered that the average Brit throws away 72 items of clothing a year!

By buying preloved and vintage, you're helping to reduce this scary amount of waste!

Saving Resources
The production and buying of new clothes is pretty resource heavy. It contributes in a major way to emissions and greenhouse gases. Plus, according to earth.org, processes such as dyeing and finishing are responsible for 20% of global water pollution. It also says that a kg of cotton takes a staggering 20,000 litres of water!

Built to Last
How many times have you bought a garment from a fast fashion site that's fallen apart and you've thrown it out? How often do they need replacing? How many pieces are now "so last season"?

The beauty of vintage is that not only are you creating a unique look that's personal to you, but most vintage pieces were built to last. Meaning they need replacing less often and they NEVER go out of style!
